The 12th Research Symposium for Chinese PhD Students and Scholars in Australia

Overview

More than 400 early-career researchers and doctoral students attended, from four Australian states and several Chinese provinces, across six parallel sessions.

Keynotes: 谢亿民, Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering at RMIT University, on bi-directional evolutionary structural optimisation and the Ameba software built on it; and Professor Julie Owens, Deakin University, on research innovation and impact.

This edition added a roundtable for the first time, on career choices for early-career researchers, alongside a three-minute thesis competition and recruitment by universities and companies from Australia and China.
