The 11th Research Symposium for Chinese PhD Students and Scholars in Australia

Overview

More than 400 early-career researchers, industry specialists and academics attended, from Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania and several Chinese provinces. Over 60 talks ran across eight fields.

Three keynotes: 余星火 of RMIT University, then president of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, on simple solutions to complex problems; 高集体 of Monash University, Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia; and 韩清龙 of Swinburne University of Technology.

The programme also included a careers and industry session, a three-minute thesis competition and a recruitment fair with nearly twenty Australian and Chinese employers.
